I cannot remember how I stumbled upon Manasi7, but I do remember how obsessed I became with the brand. Contemporary, minimalistic, natural and organic, trying it became a matter of need, not want.
In the brand’s own words:
THE COLLECTION IS MADE WITH HIGH QUALITY NATURAL, WILD HARVESTED AND CERTIFIED ORGANIC INGREDIENTS IN SMALL BATCHES TO ENSURE PREMIUM QUALITY. THE PRODUCTS ARE HIGHLY CONCENTRATED AND DESIGNED TO LAST FOR A WHILE. WE WORK EXCLUSIVELY WITH INDEPENDENT SMALL-SCALE SUB-CONTRACTORS IN OUR PRODUCTION CYCLES AND PRODUCE OUR PRODUCTS IN SMALL QUANTITIES, THEREFORE OUR WASTE AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT IS VERY LIMITED. WE FOCUS ON QUALITY AHEAD OF QUANTITY.
Manasi7 packaging is sustainable and recyclable. Jars and paper boxes can be re-purposed and formula refills for powder products are still under development.
Here’s a review of all the Manasi7 products I have bought and tried:
Manasi7 Custom Contour Duo Cinnabar Mocha
Long gone are my makeup hoarding days – I only own 1 bronzer now, and it’s this one. I can use one side to contour and the other to bronze. On lazy days, I just swirl the brush over the two colors and I just bronze. I love it.
I was so upset that I received this one chipped, I actually avoided using it and including it in my pictures for a while. Sorry boo. I’ve gotten over myself now and can’t get enough of it. Beautiful colors, worn alone or swirled together.
A neutral-lover’s dream, this palette was love at first sight for me. It’s the only matte eye-shadow palette I will ever need. Seriously.
Manasi7 Skin Enhancer
I was especially entranced with the the Skin Enhancer – call me shallow, but because of its name and description, I couldn’t help but feel it was comparable to my beloved Kevyn Aucoin Skin Enhancer.
Given that the Manasi7 Skin Enhancer comes in 4 shades – including a white one to lighten darker shades, I reached out to PR to find out where I could samples of it, so I can find my shade, or combination, without having to spend a fortune trying to find out, to no avail.
Then I spent a fortune. I first purchased Sarcoline, and found it to be lighter than my skin. With my hopes dampened a bit, I proceeded with ordering Beechwood – too dark, and too cool for my skin tone. Now I was stumped. Do I order Eburnean (white shade) to lighten up Beechwood? No, remember, the tone was too cool. Then Jamoca it is, to darken Sarcoline. It was also cool-toned, so I was still not satisfied. I honestly found this mixing game to be too much of a hastle and too frustrating for someone who has limited time to get ready. Eventually, I settled on adding the tiniest amount of Beechwood to a concoction of my favorite sunscreen, Blissoma Photonic, and a light moisturizer to make it kind of work for my sun-kissed summer skin, and I hope Sarcoline will do the job for me when I’m pale.
I usually have an aversion to potted products, and I avoid using them unless they’re REALLY good. This one truly is. The color is the perfect nude and lip color match to a smokey-eye; every time I wear it I feel like oomphing up my eye makeup with eyeliner and mascara.
Speaking of mascaras, this one is seriously black – the blackest one I’ve yet encountered in the clean beauty world. Unfortunately, it smudges on me, and that really upsets me because I want to love it so much. If the formula could be improved without affecting the intensity of the pigment, I would definitely deem this holy grail material and buy it for life.
Now that Alyaka has launched its Manasi7 Sample Kit as part of it’s Beauty Box Program, it is possible to pick 5 samples for £19, which can be used against any full-sized Manasi7 product bought within a month of receiving the samples. Would love to try more Manasi7 All Over Colour shades, Silk Finish Powder Translucent and Silk Glow Powder Perihelion next!
