My last post was exactly two months ago…I feel so disconnected from blogging and I don’t like the feeling. BUT, I do have good news! We are expecting another child! Baby is due mid October and is hugely part of the reason I have been so absent lately. It is completely exhausting taking care of a 13 month-old and being pregnant at the same time! I have been considering putting my son in nursery to gain some much-needed free time before I have to start the ‘taking-care-of-a-baby’ cycle all over again…
With that said, this is an over-due post of my recent favorites, all shown above. Starting with the top left, clockwise, I have to say I absolutely love my local Sephora’s 200 point gift, the Michael Kors Glam Jasmine. It’s absolutely refreshing, and arrived just in time as my pregnancy nose can’t tolerate my usually loved ‘heavier’ scents. I love it so much I chose it twice!
I have been lusting over the Omorovicza Mineral UV Sheild SPF 30 for ages, you guys can’t imagine how happy I was to receive it and finally try it on! I usually swear by the Dermalogica Oil Free Matte for sun protection AND acting as a primer for helping my foundation last all day but unfortunately I can’t use it during pregnancy. The Omorovicza sunscreen fares just as good, I might have found me another favorite!
Having eyed the Konjac Facial Puff Sponge for quite some time but never felt the need to buy it, I never thought I was actually going to love this little exfoliator perhaps more than I love my Foreo Luna or my Clarisonic. It is SO gentle on the face, I actually don’t ‘feel it working’, but my skin feels remarkably soft after each use. It is actually so gentle I use it at night after removing my makeup, and it helps balance my skin and keep it clear. It’s only downside would have to be the fact that it needs to be replaced every 3 months.
Some nights, I opt for a mask, and the one I’ve been loving lately is the Dead Sea Mud Facial Mask by Trinitae. I came across the Jordanian brand at an outdoor market in Dubai and I was so excited to try their products. I bought a bunch of them, which I will be reviewing all soon, but their mask is simply amazing. It also helps clear up and balance the skin’s oil production. I spread a thin layer over my face and wait till it dries before rubbing it and washing it off, to help exfoliate the dead skin more.
Moving on to makeup. I am a die-hard fan for Kevyn Aucoin products and I first purchased a bunch of them on a trip to New York a couple of years ago. Finding a color match for The Sensual Skin Enhancer was a nightmare for me though. I was matched with a mix of the SX06 and SX09 at Bergdorf’s but couldn’t decide if I really liked the color on me that much so headed to Barney’s the next day and ended up being matched to the SX10. In short, I have all three now, barely used…but have recently rediscovered them and have been loving the SX06 as an under-eye concealer. It’s full-coverage hides all my mama tiredness, it’s just what I need to brighten up my complexion and make me look more put together than I really am! A rather close dupe, for it’s concealer use, would have to be Anastasia Beverly Hill‘s concealer (2 products up). I was matched by Anastasia herself during a Sephora event a while back so I’m pretty happy with the shade I have 🙂
Now I don’t usually rave about mascaras. I have a bagful of samples and full-sized mascaras that I just reach out for every couple of months when my old mascara dries up on me or just simply bores me. I received Sephora‘s The Mascara as part of a gift from a focus group I attended for the brand a couple of months back and never really had high hopes for it. Boy was I surprised! It darkens my lashes and lengthens them surprisingly well! I would definitely think of repurchasing it, if I ever run out of mascaras any time soon! Haha.
My dark circles have been my companions since before I even became a mommy, so I have a thing for peachy correctors. They save me every single day I wear makeup. I have previously raved about Georgio Armani and Makeup Forever‘s correctors, so does the new YSL Touche Eclat Neutralizer in Apricot Bisque fare as well as they do? In terms of coverage, it doesn’t, but it’s thinner than ever consistency is kind of what drew me to it. It works great for days when I don’t want to make a lot of effort to get ready but still want to look put together…
Saving the best for last, I finally got my hands on some Melt Cosmetics products, and their Eyeshadow Stack in Dark Matter does not disappoint! I used it for my first ever black smokey-eye attempt for a wedding I had in Lebanon recently and I loved it! It was so easy to use, quite pigmented and a dream to blend!
Hope you guys enjoyed my rather lengthy post, and looking forward to write more soon!
