Honestly, it took me a couple of tries to be convinced to buy the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation…I tried it the first time at a Sephora event for the brand, and I have to say I HATED it. It was lighter than my skin and it looked too thick and streaky on my face, even my husband noticed that and called me ‘cake face’ when he saw me! That can’t be a good thing! In my head, foundation is only supposed to look like a better version of your skin.
Months later, I headed to the brand’s store at Dubai Mall, intending to take a look at the Ultra HD Concealers. My curiosity got the best of me, and I asked the sales attendant that was helping me, Maha, to try it out on me again. She suggested a different shade than the one previously applied on me, and she went ahead with her work. Lo and behold, she had created a masterpiece from my face in under 10 minutes! I kept my makeup on all day to make sure I was completely satisfied with the products before I went and bought them later.
Having combination to oily skin, this foundation needs blotting, maybe once or twice during the day. However, it does not melt on the face. It holds up pretty well and looks flawless on the skin, even in person! It does not aggravate my sensitive skin, nor has it caused me any breakouts. In short, I love it, and would recommend it to everyone!
Same goes for the concealers. The Georgio Armani corrector was the only corrector that ever did it for me, but the new peachy concealer I picked up from Make Up For Ever works just as well at covering my dark circles. The concealers, in general, have not creased on me even when I layer a yellow toned one over the peachy corrector. They are long-lasting and do not dry my under-eye areas.
