My night-time routine for clear, balanced and moisturized skin

Cleansing, in general, is not my cup of tea…but there’s something therapeutic about having a routine, especially at night, to help unwind and prepare for bed…and I’ve perfected mine to a T! Here’s the lowdown: After removing my makeup with Bioderma Sensibio, I cleanse my face again with the Dermalogica Ultra Calming cleanser, my favorite cleanser for years now, and the Foreo Mini. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of double cleansing to rid pores of all the makeup and gunk that get lodged in pores all day!

Then I use a toner. There are a lot of conflicting views on toners in the beauty world – some people love them, others find them absolutely unnecessary. To be honest, I was part of the latter group for a while, but picked up the habit of using one again to prepare my skin for the next step in my routine, the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. All you guys know by now how much I LOVE this ‘magic water’, and I want to make sure my pores are squeaky-clean, ready to absorb as much of it as they can.

Now that I have a clean canvas, I can start moisturizing. I proceed with eye cream, the Orlane Anti-Fatigue Eye Contour cream. Then I mix a couple of drops of Clarins Lotus Oil with Dermalogica Active Moist on my palms, which I then pat all over my face. Active Moist is a light moisturizer that I still find too heavy on the face under makeup, and although it’s an oil, Lotus Oil serves to balance combination to oily skin – so I find both better suited for night-time use.

I conclude my night-time routine with giving my lips, hands and feet some TLC. I recently purchased Tatcha Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm and have been using it every night. It has a waxy feel but it’s very light and I definitely wake up with soft moisturized lips. I have to say though I’ve not a huge fan of the gold-leaf on top. It’s too flimsy and gets picked up easily, I feel I have to always work my finger around it when picking up product to ‘save more of it for later’!

The Heaven SOS Oil has become a recent favorite, and I’ve been using it as a cuticle oil for my toenails every night. I conclude with hand cream – I have been using L’Occitane Hand Creams for a while now, it might be time for a product switch-up soon!

This might seem like a lengthy night-time routine for some, but I find it so soothing and I love that it helps me wake-up to clear, balanced and moisturized skin every morning!
